40 years of ambulant computer tomography in Mannheim
01.02.2017
In 1977, the first computerised tomography machine was installed in the practice rooms in P7. This made the predecessor practice of the Radiology Centre Mannheim (RZM) the first in the city of squares to have a CT scanner. Since then, the technology has developed rapidly; the RZM operates two ultra-modern and fast CT scanners at its two locations, which can be used to produce high-resolution images and three-dimensional reconstructions of the inside of the body. On 27 January 2017, the RZM celebrated the 40th anniversary of outpatient CT in Mannheim with a themed afternoon. The practice's radiologists gave exciting short presentations on the history and current applications of CT: from pain therapy and neuroradiology to cardiac imaging and a special look at unusual cases.
The regional television station RNF produced a programme on the subject, which you can watch in the RNF media library.
