Breast Cancer Awareness Month October: Breast MRI instead of biopsy for suspected breast cancer?
06.10.2015
Scientists at the German Cancer Research Centre (DKFZ) in Heidelberg, in collaboration with the mammography units in Mannheim (Dr Heidi Daniel from the Radiology Centre Mannheim) and Heidelberg (Dr Wolfgang Lederer from the Radiological Group Practice at the ATOS Clinic), have conducted a study on breast examinations using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Initial data suggest that optimised diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging could save patients many control biopsies. The modern MRI procedure can be performed at the RZM as a self-pay service. You can find the DKFZ article here.
